This February, America’s top high school football players will take on the best high school-aged players from around the world. The 2011 U-19 National Team, featuring players committed to top NCAA FBS schools, will face a World Select Team made up of the top players from outside the United States.

Team USA will be led by Cincinnati St. Xavier High School head coach Steve Specht. Past U-19 National Teams have featured players who have gone on to play at NCAA FBS schools such as Texas, Nebraska, LSU, Alabama, Virginia Tech, and Miami (Fla.). The IFAF World Team features players from Mexico, Canada, Japan, American Samoa, Australia, Sweden and Germany, a number of whom are committed to NCAA FBS schools.

The 2012 International Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. CT at Kelley Reeves Athletic Complex in Austin, Texas.

The 2012 International Bowl will be televised live in high definition on CBS Sports Network and streamed live on the internet in countries outside of the U.S. and Canada. The Feb. 1 game in Austin, Texas, also will be broadcast on the American Forces Network for U.S. service men and women deployed overseas and on U.S. Navy ships.

Kickoff is 5 p.m. CT.

American football fans around the world can tune in live via a webcast at www.USAFootball.com/InternationalBowl to watch the IFAF World Team take on America’s Under-19 National Team. Webcast viewers in the U.S. and Canada can view the game telecast online 72 hours after its conclusion.

The third annual International Bowl features the U.S. Under-19 National Team comprised of the top high school players in the country against an IFAF World Team of premiere players age 19-and-under from outside the United States. Both teams will field a roster of 50 players. U.S. National Team players and coaches are selected by USA Football. The World Team is selected by the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), comprised of 62 countries spanning six continents.

True to its name, the 2012 International Bowl features players and coaches from a record 20 countries, making it the most globally diverse matchup in football history. This year’s record number of 20 participating countries tops the previous high of 17, set in Austin last year.

The U.S. National Team is led by Cincinnati St. Xavier High School head coach Steve Specht. University of Western Ontario head coach Greg Marshall is the World Team’s head coach.

The Americans have won the first two International Bowls, 17-0 in Fort Lauderdale in 2010 and 21-14 in Austin last February.
