När han tävlade så visste han inte att han var avstängd. Det var en massa strul med hans avstängning hit och dit. Han försökte kolla så gott han kunde att allt var OK.

Men oavsett hur det liksom hände så tycker jag det är konstigt att kalla "tävlan under avstängning" för småsaker.


Förresten kanske inte IPF väljer ut vilka dom avstänger för "småsaker" utan helt enkelt inte blir informerade om alla fall.
Men bättre att ha regler som går att följa prickfritt än ett regelverk som möjliggör dessa undanslippningar.

RPF President Gennadiy Khodosevich reports that the IPF warned the federation on September 12 for not complying with the federations required Whereabouts reporting procedures. If there are continued instances of non-compliance, the federation will be subject to suspension. Warnings also have been issued to Julia Zaugolova, Sergey Bogdanov, Svetlana Dedyulya, Irena Poletayev, Ravil Zazakov, Alexander Govorin, and Vladimir Bondarenko for either not completing the proper paperwork showing their Whereabouts or not being available for testing when and where they had stated they would be. These lifters are allowed a second warning before being subject to suspension if a third violation occurs.

Whereabouts reporting is used for out of competition testing. Lifters must report where they will be and when they will be there so that they may be subject to those tests.

Nu blir de varnade. Flera gånger tydligen. Varför ska ryssarna få så många chanser.

I pressmeddelandet som IPF släppte när de släppte tillbaka ryssarna sa de väl "ANY future non-copmliance, including whereabouts violations, will subject them to future sanctions"?

Fast WADAs regler säger väl att det krävs tre missade rapporteringar på 18 månader för en avstängning.

Det funkade ju för Jörgen. Han fick ingen förlängd avstängning.

Ja. Klara och tydliga regler. Både när det gäller lyftningen och doping/avstängningar.

The release specifically cites the case of American Darren Matsumoto and his positive test for octopamine. Octopamine is frequently found in sports drinks, protein and other over the counter supplements. Matsumoto received and one year suspension instead of a two year one because of the clause.

IPF Medical Committee Chair Chris Calvano, "What this means is that WADA now recognizes the possibility for a lifter to ingest a very low amount of a banned substance unintentionally and without significant performance enhancement. This is a great step forward in rational anti-doping policy."

The IPF has extended the suspension of former U.S. World Team member Darren Matsumoto an additional six months. Matsumoto's suspension was set to expire on October 1, 2008 but has been extended to April 1, 2009. Matsumoto was originally suspended for one year for testing positive for the stimulant Ocotopamine. The six month extension was levied because he competed at the 2008 USPF Senior Nationals. That violated IPF Anti-Doping Rule 10.9 which bars suspended lifters from competing, not only in any other powerlifting federation, but in any sporting event whatsoever.
