"From my experience I've found that doing the second half of the RSR isn't that helpful for me and fairly unrealistic for a natural athlete. I like to run the first 3 weeks followed by a deload and then repeat with heavier weights or move on to something else. I like to switch to something like the Texas method which is intensity increasing rather than volume increasing. I think the 2 compliment each other well when you switch back and forth. The Texas method also is a little less volume so I can put more energy towards classic lifts when I lead into a competition"
"Hmm.. interesting. So you do the 6x2->6x6 cycle, and then add weight and repeat? That sounds like a good idea. Though I'm also intrigued by doing the TM/RSR thing too. How many weeks do you spend on TM? And do all of these weeks end with a 5RM?"
"Yeah basically. >blablabla> I've found that pushing my volume PRs gives me better progress in the classics than pure 1 RM squats. I usually spend 6-8 weeks doing TM by either starting with an 8RM and then going to a 5rm or starting with a 5RM but half way through I drop to doing 3x5 on Mondays. Then I'll take about 4 weeks to peak where I really push the classics and when I squat I work up to a heavy single followed by 2x2 at 90% of that single".
Så jag funderar på att efter nästa veckas 6x6x145 kg, ha en vilovecka från dödslyft, och sen börja om RSR Masters på Vecka 1, med kalkylerade vikter kring +5 kg (185 kg)
