INSTEAD OF RELYING ON AEROBIC EXERCISE FOR FAT LOSS, SPRINT INTERVAL TRAINING MAY BE A MORE EFFECTIVE METHOD OF IMPROVING BODY COMPOSITION. THERE IS SOME EVIDENCE THAT WOMEN MAY NOT EXPERIENCE THE SAME ADAPTATIONS TO SPRINTING AS MEN. THIS ARTICLE WILL REVIEW THE INTERVAL TRAINING STUDIES THAT HAVE USED WOMEN AS SUBJECTS AND SUMMARIZE HOW THIS MODE OF EXERCISE IMPACTS BODY FAT. PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS ARE PROVIDED FOR TRAINERS TO DEVELOP PROGRAMS GEARED AT REDUCING BODY FAT IN WOMEN.
